The United Nations has declared 2011 as the International Year of Forests.
2011 as the UN International Year of Forests (Forests 2011). In this regard,
suggestions have been received from many quarters and it has been advised
that the integration of annual event of Indian Forestry Congress should be
part of our celebration of the International year of Forestry, 2011. After due
consideration and discussion with the Ministry of Environment and Forests,
New Delhi, it has now been decided that the 1st Indian Forestry Congress will
be organized in 2011 tentatively in September/October
(instead of 15th to18th December 2010).
